Wealth of Nature Is Wealth of People

Community Fund was established in the Kok-Oyrok Ayil Aymaq in 2008. It was established to address social and economic problems of the local people. Despite the initial success, its stability is hardly achievable if the activity is carried out only by the accumulation of own funds. New sources of funding, especially local resources should be searched.

Kok-Oyrok Ayil Aimaq has a great potential of secondary natural resources, which include herbs, mushrooms and berries. Most of the inhabitants are engaged  in their collection and sale. Because of lack of equipment for the processing of raw materials and lack of knowledge, products of local people are sold at low cost. This business does not bring profit because of lack of analyses of benefits and determination at what stage and how to get the maximum profit.

In January 2010 RDF started the project to assist in solving the communities’ problems and implementation of idea of community fund to achieve sustainability. This project is supported by ICCO (Inter Church Organisation for Development Cooperation) and was held until December 31, 2010.
